Today, we benefit from the inventions of the 20th century. However, our attitude towards some of these inventions has changed. The car, for instance, gets you from point A to point B. But at what cost? With the rising awareness of eco-friendly approaches, one can’t help but join in. The research project Get eReady in the Southern German region Stuttgart/Karlsruhe/Pforzheim, allows for this opportunity to be taken and move ahead in the prevention of negative environmental impacts, e.g. rising CO2 emissions causing dense smog in major cities like Beijing.
Why participate in Get eReady?
The amazing aspect about our Get eReady project, I believe, is that it’s not just for the commercially-minded out there. This project allows all kinds of fleet operators an opportunity to boast an image of eco-friendliness in the eyes of potential employees and business partners.
Among the many benefits, some are:
- Having a chance to familiarize with the project before commitment and receiving a free analysis of the existing fleet and the required charging infrastructure.
- For every licensed electric vehicle, the participants receive a monthly subsidy.
- The participants build up a networked charging infrastructure for their shared use.
Join the eRevolution
Get eReady hopes to attract companies, non-commercial organizations, institutions etc. operating fleets. The wider the range of participants, the easier it will be to gain a thorough perspective on the cost-effective use of e-mobility. After just two events in the region Stuttgart our event series continued on March 13 – for the first time in the city of Karlsruhe. I was more than pleased to welcome over 60 people from 50 different companies and institutions that showed their interest in the project. 14 e-cars were available to test-drive and three were on exhibition (to marvel at their sleek design, no doubt). And this is the part where one may obviously observe that e-mobility means driving enjoyment. By the way, this driving enjoyment is regularly confirmed by the participants that have already received their new Get eReady electric vehicles. But to be honest, this is not the major motivation to take part in the project. Indeed, most Get eReady participants say that they want to contribute to sustainable mobility. The wheels of the eRevolution are already turning, so why not secure a seat in the race for a sustainable future?
